DDR Museum

Relevant to students of: Life in East Germany, the Stasi and terror state, the Berlin Wall, Communist ideology.

Providing ‘hands-on’ learning experiences, the DDR museum is an interactive look at life in East Germany nominated twice for ‘European Museum of the Year.’ Students can experience life in a fully furnished reconstruction of a high-rise tower block flat as well as take a simulated drive in the original Trabant P601 car. The museum explores life behind the Berlin Wall, exploring both the ideological claims of the Communist state and the reality of its surveillance and control.
