- Day
Day 1 - Fly to Munich, Munich Old Town
Fly to Munich before making the easy transfer to your accommodation by S-Bahn or coach.
Orient yourself in the city by taking our guided walking tour of Munich with your expert TCBC guide. These tours can be delivered in English or in German at a level to suit your group’s abilities. As you journey through Munich Old Town, you’ll see the Old Town Hall, St Peter’s Church and Frauenkirche as well as the Munich Residenz, the former royal palace of the Wittelsbach monarchs of Bavaria. Explore Munich history at the Hofbrauhaus beer hall as well as the squares of Marienplatz and Odeonsplatz.
Take a long pause at the Viktualienmarkt, Munich’s premier food market in the centre of the city. Whether it’s for fresh pretzels and coffee, bratwurst or fresh fruit, you’re sure to find something delicious and use your language skills at the same time! It’s also home to souvenirs and the finest patisserie. You can explore Munich culture too with The Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit at Viktualienmarkt, one of Munich's oldest churches.
Have your evening meal in your accommodation before heading out bowling.
Day 2 - German Language School, Neuschwanstein Castle
Guten Morgen! First up today is one of your two language lessons at our Munich language school. You can select the focus and level of your class to best suit your students.
After class, it’s time to board the coach and head to Neuschwanstein Castle. Its image, made famous by Disney, combines Romanesque, Gothic and Byzantine architecture to create a rarefied and romantic impression of royal power. Tour inside King Ludwig II’s famous castle, one of the most-visited castles in the world.
On your return, you could add a stop at Linderhof Palace. The smallest of King Ludwig II’s three fairytale castles, this was the only one completed in his lifetime. This rococo style villa was inspired by the Palace of Versailles and designed as a place of retreat where Ludwig could live quietly. Explore the palace and extensive gardens before returning to Munich.
This evening, dine early at your accommodation before having some free time to explore Munich by night.
Day 3 - Language School, Olympic Park and BMW World
Return to the German language school in Munich for your final class. You could practise ordering food and drink before heading out into the Old Town for lunch.
From here, it’s time to head out to visit the Olympic Park and BMW World. The Munich Olympic Stadium was commissioned for the 1972 Summer Games and then went on to be the home of Bayern Munich. On the same site you can visit BMW Welt. Across two sites you can explore the latest BMW models, MINI and Rolls-Royce Motor Cars as well as visit the BMW Museum Munich to explore 100 years of BMW Group history.
This evening, dine at your accommodation, followed by a visit to the cinema.
Day 4 - Allianz Arena, fly home
Finish your German language trip with a visit to the Allianz Arena. Home to Bayern Munich, the Allianz Arena can seat 70-75000 and is known for its ETFE plastic panels that make it the first stadium in the world with a full colour changing exterior. A guided tour can be given in English and German.
From here you can transfer to the airport by S-Bahn or coach ready for your flight back to the UK. Enjoy incredible memories from your German language school trip to Munich!
