Sample itinerary
This sample itinerary is offered as a guideline. The trip focus, length and itinerary/activities can be tailored to meet your learning objectives.

- Day
Day 1 - Fly to New York
Arrive in New York and transfer to your hotel. Manhattan Island’s skyline is awe-inspiring and will immediately put you in the mood to explore.
Today's activities depend on your arrival time, but it's always exciting on Day 1 to make your way to Times Square to feel the pulse of this incredible city. After dinner, get a good night’s sleep, as our New York school trip itinerary is bursting with things to see and do.
Day 2 - Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, Lower Manhattan and 9/11 Memorial
Begin your educational trip to New York in the most classic of ways - by visiting Lady Liberty. One of the country’s most recognisable symbols, you’ll have time for photos and a ride up to the pedestal if you wish. The next stop on your harbour cruise is Ellis Island, the gateway to America. You’re in for some amazing views of NYC’s best historical sites on your return journey!
After lunch, visit the 9/11 Memorial at Ground Zero and the adjacent 9/11 Memorial Museum. This reverent place is home to two cascading pools and a serene garden that is perfect for reflection. Visit the museum with its hard-hitting self-guided tour or continue to explore the theme of immigration at the Lower East Side Tenement Museum, which focuses on the historical plight of immigrants.
In the evening, we could offer to arrange tickets for many Broadway shows, please enquire.
Day 3 - Museums, museums, museums!
New York is home to some of the most famous museums in the world, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the American Museum of Natural History, the New-York Historical Society, and the National Museum of the American Indian. Deep-dive into one museum or use the morning to explore them all.
After lunch, head to Central Park, one of New York’s most famous landmarks. Depending on the time of year, this lush woodland will be a peaceful, snow-covered retreat or a green oasis bathed in sunlight. You can spend a relaxing afternoon enjoying the design, architecture, and history of the park, or return to the museums or other attractions in the area.
If you prefer to continue your museum exploration, you could skip the park and take a trip to Staten Island to visit the Fort Wadsworth Museum, which chronicles history from the American Revolution through to the Cold War, or the Sandy Ground Historical Museum, which tells the story of the oldest continually inhabited free Black settlement in the United States.
Day 4 - United Nations, New York Walking Tour and Empire State Building
The United Nations was founded in 1945, and a tour is perfect for history and politics school trips. Upon arrival, you’ll be met by your expert guide, who will lead you through the complex and answer questions. Private tours take in the General Assembly Hall and teach students about how the UN addresses world issues such as disarmament, peace and security, and human rights. You could select a thematic tour focused on Black History or women.
This afternoon, there is time for a customised walking tour of your choice. One of the most popular options is Wall Street and the Financial District, where you’ll see the Brass Bull and New York Stock Exchange, hear about the rich economic history of the area, and finish at the newest gem of Lower Manhattan, One World Trade Center. We can arrange tours covering a varied array of subjects, from the Wall Street Crash and Great Depression to a historical literature outing in Greenwich Village.
Your last night in "the city that never sleeps" is the perfect time for a trip up to the Empire State Building Observatory. It is an architectural landmark with a storied history. There are no words to describe the views you’ll have from the observation deck on the 86th floor; the Empire State Building experience is simply incredible.
Day 5 - Free Time, Flight Home
Depending on your flight time, you may have a full day to continue exploring the city or just a free morning for last-minute shopping. Fifth Avenue is among the most popular shopping destinations, or if you’re looking for souvenirs, Times Square is the place to go.
Before long, it’s time for your transfer to the airport for the overnight flight home.
Day 6 - Arrive Back Home
Arrive home with some unforgettable memories of a fantastic school trip to New York!
