- Day
Day 1 - Fly to New York
Arrive in the Big Apple and hop on the coach to your hotel. The stunning skyline you glimpsed as you landed is just waiting to be explored! Start your adventure with a visit to Times Square, the perfect place to capture those first trip selfies under its vibrant lights.
Day 2 - Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island Immigration Museum, Performing Arts or Dance tailored workshop
Start this Drama and Theatre school trip to New York City bright and early with a landmark cruise taking in Lady Liberty herself. One of the country’s most iconic statues, you can cruise right up to the pedestal. The next stop on your harbour cruise is Ellis Island, the gateway to America, where so many arrived in search of ‘The American Dream.’ Explore the Ellis Island Immigration Museum to learn about those who came here in search of a better life. As you sail back to Manhattan Island, the cruise is an incredible way to photograph some of NYC’s best historical sites.
This afternoon it’s time to flex those jazz hands with a Broadway workshop for students. Depending on the focus of your group, we can arrange Performing Arts or Dance tailored workshops to suit your students' needs.
In the evening, enjoy dinner at one of the city's renowned restaurants, followed by a Broadway Show.
Day 3 - Central Park, 9/11 Memorial, Movie Locations Coach Tour, Rockefeller Center
This morning, head out into the Big Apple on a walking tour of Midtown Manhattan. With your expert TCBC guide, visit Times Square, explore Broadway and the theatre district, and stroll through Central Park. Depending on the season, this could be a magical snow-covered treat or a green oasis from the city heat. Relax in the park, enjoying its design, architecture, and history. You could even visit the zoo here!
After lunch, visit the 9/11 Memorial at Ground Zero and the adjacent 9/11 Memorial Museum. This reverent place is home to two cascading pools and a serene garden, perfect for reflection. You can explore the museum with its hard-hitting self-guided tour or continue to explore the theme of immigration at the Lower East Side Tenement Museum, which focuses on the historical plight of immigrants.
From here, hop on a coach for a tour of famous TV and movie locations in New York City. Spot scenery from Gossip Girl, Spiderman, and Friends. You might even see a star as you tour celebrity hangout spots.
Unwind this evening with a trip to the Top of the Rock, perhaps even recreating that iconic photo. The observation deck at Rockefeller Center offers students spectacular, 360-degree views of New York City. If the season permits, head to the Metropolitan Opera at the Lincoln Center for Performing Arts.
Day 4 - NBC Studios, New York Film Academy, Empire State Building
Today it’s time to head backstage. Take a tour at NBC Studios or Radio City. At NBC, you can go behind the scenes of some of America’s biggest cultural exports and visit the Broadcast Operations Center and make-up rooms. Or, at Radio City, you might get the chance to interview a Rockette about the magic of performing in NYC.
This afternoon, focus on your future with a tour of the New York Film Academy. Students can tour the world-famous acting and film school that produces top-notch industry professionals. Finish your tour with an incredible Q&A about careers in the movie industry.
Your last night in 'the city that never sleeps' is the perfect time for a trip up to the Empire State Building Observatory. It is an architectural landmark with a storied history. There are no words to describe the views you’ll have from the observation deck on the 86th floor; the Empire State Building experience is simply incredible.
Day 5 - Free Time or Museum of your Choice, Flight Home
Depending on your flight time, you may have a full day here to visit that final museum, or simply a morning to complete that last-minute shopping. Fifth Avenue is among the most popular shopping destinations, or if you’re looking for souvenirs, Times Square is the place to go.
All too soon, it’s time for your transfer to the airport for the overnight flight home.
