Brandhoek New Military Cemetery

Relatively sheltered Brandhoek was relatively sheltered from shell fire, which meant that field ambulances were constantly posted here. The arrival in July 1917 of new Casualty Clearing Stations meant that it was necessary to open this new Cemetery, which contains 530 Commonwealth burials, including Captain Noel Chavasse, VC and Bar, MC, one of only three men to have won the Victoria Cross twice.
